The Struggle is REAL

Yes it is!

This coming Friday I am hosting my first Girl Talk Art Party.. a little party with a much greater purpose. I want to take this time to let you in on what we’re doing and why.

Girl Talk is something we need more of.. a real, transparent, fun environment. A safe place. I felt a nudge to open my home for these first few parties and invite you in. My desire is for you to come and breathe.. relax, create and talk. There is healing when we talk.. relationships grow and we learn from others. I welcome you to leave topic suggestions in the comments below..image

Along with creating I will also be sharing my favorite things and tips for you. You may just leave not only with your art but a recipe card or ideas for something new.

Most importantly I will share with you the one tool that gives me hope..significance and joy! I can’t wait to share and meet YOU!

Reserve your spot now for our second event.. Feb.23

Creativity is such a part of who we are.. God designed us that way. We are all creative in one fashion or another. 💗

Weeknights.. and what to eat

I’m not sure about you but my goal for weeknight meals include.. healthy and easy. I have three boys and we are in the midst of basketball season… which means ON THE GO!!

Tonight we did a BBQ chicken salad bar with a spin.. the spin that attracts boys. Doritos ☺️

What you will need.. I found the cutest little bowls at Walmart and filled each one with  different toppings. Just pick your favorites…F7279C1E-EE14-4CF7-ACF4-EFF582BD559D

Ours include: Costco rotisserie chicken

mixed salad greens

Corn, Black Beans, shredded carrots, black olives, roasted sweet potato cubes and cilantro.

Dress salad with your favorite bbq sauce and ranch dressing. We love Rufus Teague and Sweet Baby Rays..

THEN.. crush a few Doritos for the top.. not for me but my boys loved the idea! (Not pictured) bowls from Homegoods1D9135D2-F78F-40CE-8BB0-79280BBC6833

Dinner in a Snap~ Easy Vegetable Soup and Grilled Cheese Croutons

A2BF8896-1C2C-443C-AC19-0C9D148DA317Calling on Crock Pot and Easy meal lovers!! Yes! ..I hear ya! Who has time to cook a meal with all the hustle and bustle..  but I have boys and they are hungry. All the boy moms get me… I remember the day we all split a Zaxbys large chicken finger plate.. times have changed! 😂

For me.. I need a quick, easy and somewhat healthy meal to make me at least feel good that I tried! 🙂

I honestly do not know how this soup evolved.. I think it went something like “hmm.. let’s see if this works”. Somehow it did and it’s now in the Winter Soup rotation. Everybody eats it…Everybody likes it! SCORE!

what you will need:

2lbs Ground beef/turkey or venison

1 large bottle Spicy V8 juice (promise it’s not too spicy.. just adds a kick)

1 can beef broth

1 small bag frozen mixed vegetables (I like the peas, corn, green bean carrot mix)

Brown meat, add V8, broth and simmer. I add the vegetables the last couple of they aren’t mushy. No on the MUSH!

Simmer and serve with.. wait for it..

you know the drill.. make your favorite old school grill cheese, I grill mine a little longer so they are extra crispy.

Cut in cubes and serve with or along side your soup.

Enjoy and let me know what you think!

PS~ perfect for the crock pot
